After School Program

Four days a week for two hours after school, the Center offers tutoring, value building programs and recreational activities for forty to fifty children between the ages of six and twelve. The children are taught good study habits, helped with special needs and instilled with values and discipline - all in a loving and caring environment.

There are classrooms, a computer room and a large playground. The Sisters are aided by local tutors... five of the seven were former participants in the after school program. The children are offered transportation home or to other activities.

This After School Program, along with field trips, has exposed the children to off-island life and has had a positive impact on school attendance and grades.

Computer Program

The Center has a large computer room with seven computers. The children are instructed in the proper usage. They benefit from the educational software which reinforces basic skills and helps with homework.

Summer Camp

As a reward for effort, self-improvement, and good attendance in the After School Program, the Center offers a free two week summer camp for forty children. The program includes recreational activities, field trips to the main island, arts and crafts, music, swimming and culminates with a play for the parents and the community.
